During the Lenten season several Gospel acclamations replace the Alleluia. Today’s Gospel acclamation, Glory to you, Word of God, Lord Jesus Christ, is a perfect prayer in its totality. Even if you can only remember one of the phrases, it would be a prayer to say throughout the day as you attempt to live in the presence of God.
Glory to you, (praise)
Word of God, (adoration)
Lord Jesus Christ, (adoration and praise)
ACTION: Let these Lenten acclamations accompany you throughout the day. As you change what you are doing and attend to a new task, use one of the prayers (Glory to you; Word of God; Lord Jesus Christ) calling on Jesus to be with you throughout that particular activity. This will help you be recollected throughout the day as you ask God to be with you and guide you in all you do.
PRAYER:
Glory to You, Word of God, Lord Jesus Christ!
Word of God, Lord Jesus Christ, Glory to You!
Lord Jesus Christ, you who are the Word of God, Glory to You this day.
Through my actions and interactions, may you become known and loved. Amen.
