The Jews picked up rocks to stone Jesus. (John 10: 31)
We’ve had much proof recently of individuals, groups, and mobs “picking up rocks” to show their displeasure with an event, with a choice, with a person, with anything that opposed their thinking and their “rights”.
Though our interactions with others may be limited due to the pandemic, anytime we laugh at a mistake that is made, criticize another, are negative, or constantly put another down we are picking up rocks with the intent of throwing them.
ACTION:
Today, affirm another; recognize something good in each person you meet. Be your own filter and never let a rock, a chip, or a pebble be thrown… or spoken. Find the good in every one of your actions this day and in those with whom you interact.
PRAYER:
Lord, Jesus. Help me to recognize Your face in every person I meet. May I see You. May I treat You, in them, as I want to be treated by You, God of Mercy and Compassion. Amen.
